Melaleuca Mini Quini is a compact Australian native shrub with attractive light-green foliage and delicate cream bottlebrush-style flowers. Its naturally rounded, spreading growth habit makes it an excellent choice for smaller gardens, low hedges, borders and mass planting.

This dwarf form of broad-leaved paperbark offers the character of a traditional Australian native in a much more manageable size. Its fine foliage creates a soft appearance, while its fluffy flowers provide seasonal interest and attract visiting birds.

Mini Quini is particularly useful where you want an evergreen shrub that provides structure without growing into a large tree.

    Compact native garden colour

Mini Quini is a useful alternative to larger paperbark varieties when space is limited. Its rounded shape makes it suitable for planting along pathways, in front of taller shrubs or as part of a mixed native garden.

The cream flowers provide a soft contrast against the foliage and create additional interest during the flowering season.

    Growing conditions

This Australian native is adaptable and can grow in a range of garden conditions. Choose a position with full sun to part shade and soil that drains reasonably well.

Water regularly while establishing. Once settled, it is generally low maintenance, although additional watering during prolonged dry periods will help maintain healthy foliage.

    Pruning and feeding

Mini Quini can be lightly pruned to maintain a neat shape or encourage denser growth. Trim after flowering if necessary.

Use a suitable native plant fertiliser according to the manufacturer's instructions. Mulching around the plant can help retain soil moisture and reduce weed growth.

    A compact Australian native

If you want the character of a paperbark without needing space for a large tree, Melaleuca Mini Quini is an excellent option. Its compact size, evergreen foliage and attractive flowers make it suitable for a wide range of garden designs.
