Description
Pleiogynium timorense, commonly known as the Burdekin Plum, is a native Australian rainforest tree valued for its edible fruit. It produces large, glossy green leaves and fragrant, creamy-white flowers that attract pollinators.
The tree can grow up to 10–15 metres tall and has a dense canopy. Its plum-like fruit ripens to a deep purple-black and is traditionally eaten fresh or used in jams and sauces. Burdekin Plum thrives in well-drained soils with full sun to part shade and is an excellent choice for native food gardens and wildlife habitats.
