Light Requirements

Lithops are different from many other succulents because their watering requirements follow a seasonal growth cycle.
Overwatering is one of the most common causes of problems with Lithops. They should not simply be watered every time the potting mix becomes dry.
During their active growing periods, they may need occasional watering, but as they enter dormancy or begin replacing their old leaves, watering should be greatly reduced or stopped depending on the stage of growth.
When a new pair of leaves develops inside the old leaves, the plant naturally absorbs moisture from the older leaves. Adding too much water during this process can interfere with the natural cycle.
Soil and Potting
Use an extremely free-draining, gritty succulent mix and a pot with excellent drainage.
A shallow pot can work well, provided it provides enough room for the root system and drains freely.
